1. Introduction
PixelZip ("we", "our", "us") is a Chrome extension that compresses images directly in your browser. We respect your privacy and keep your data on your device whenever possible.
2. What We Collect
By default, PixelZip does not collect personal information like your name, email, or browsing history.
3. How Your Images Are Handled
- Images are processed locally in your browser tab or extension context.
- No images are uploaded to our servers.
- Temporary data lives in memory only for the duration of the operation.
4. Permissions We Use
Permission | Why We Need It | Data Flow |
---|---|---|
storage |
Save user preferences like compression quality and UI settings. | Stored locally in Chrome Storage; not shared externally. |
Reference: Your extension manifest declares "permissions": ["storage"]
and a strict Content Security Policy for extension pages.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties. We do not use analytics, trackers, or ads in the extension.
6. Data Retention
Settings saved in Chrome Storage remain until you clear them or uninstall the extension. You can remove them anytime via Chrome → Clear browsing data or by uninstalling PixelZip.
7. Security
We follow Chrome Extension security best practices, including a restrictive Content Security Policy and no remote code execution. However, no software is 100% secure; use at your own discretion.
8. Children’s Privacy
PixelZip is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will update the effective date above. Your continued use of PixelZip after changes means you accept the updated policy.
10. Contact Us
If you have questions about privacy, contact us at ali.zinlab@gmail.com. If you don’t have a custom domain, you can replace this with your public email or GitHub Issues link.
11. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your local data. Because PixelZip does not maintain servers or user accounts, most requests can be fulfilled by clearing extension data locally.
